  • Turkish Airlines is the state owned company of Turkey. 
  • Turkish Airlines was established on 20 May 1933.[1]


  • Turkish Airlines won the Skytrax awards for "The Best Airlines in Europe" in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 Turkish Airlines is the 4th best airlines in 2015 according to Skytrax.[2][3]
  • Turkish Airlines has 100% equity of AnadoluJet Airlines and 50% equity of Sunexpress Airlines.
  • Turkish Airlines is flying to more countries than any other airline in world with 115 countries and 289 cities, 240 of them international destination and 49 domestic destination.[4]

  • Turkish Airlines' fleet size is 319.[5]
  • Turkish Airlines carried 61,2 million passengers in 2015.


  • Even if Turkish people is proud of Turkish Airlines, they prefer other local airlines because Turkish Airlines is expensive comparing with other local airlines.

Turkish Language

Turkish language is a member of Ural-Altaic family. This family has two sub family which are Ural and Altaic. Altaic sub family members are Turkic, Mongolic, Tungusic, Koreanic, Japonic languages. You can see Turkic languages and number of speakers in the bar chart.
